Surprise parcel, no tat and a nice sky!

Yesterday my first “surprise” parcel arrived.  I am itching to tell you what it is but as family and friends have now started to read this blog, that would take the surprise out of surprise…

Anyway, as soon as I got home from work I ran into the garden to test it.  Promptly got told off for it so it went back in the box…for now…

It’s been amazingly difficult to get hold of them.  You wouldn’t believe how much tat there is out there when it comes to weddings.  Don’t get me wrong – I’m sure there is a place for cute doves, fake wedding cakes and plastic champagne bottles – it just isn’t our wedding…or my brother’s for that matter!

“Mr Sensible” then asked how on earth I was planning to get the stuff to Germany.  Alrighty, point taken. Don’t think this would make it through the airport so I will just have to post it to my brother.  He’s going to love me when I start sending him all these parcels which he then isn’t allowed to open!

Here in Leeds the Leeds Loves Food festival is on this weekend and I picked up these beautiful little chocolates (amongst other things).

How pretty? I know – and rather yummy. They are made locally here in Leeds with no artificial nasties and have some fantastic flavours.  Raspberry & Rose, Passion Fruit, Lychee & Rose, Salted Caramel and so on.  Check out Lauden Chocolates for the full range.  Wedding favours sprang to mind but I know…getting the stuff to Germany… unfortunately they would probably completely melt in the August sun anyway.

And in case you are wondering, yes, there is one missing in the corner… in fact there are four missing. Oops!!  We have been sharing them nicely though as you only get one of each flavour in the pack and we both wanted to try them. They are pretty rich so half of one certainly gives you enough of a chocolate fix.

That leaves me with a final picture for today. I couldn’t help it. We don’t get this very often here in the UK so when you do you just have to take some time to lie on your back and enjoy the view…
